The executive at Carleton University teaching assistant and contract faculty union have unanimously recommended the a strike vote be put to the membership. [CUPE 4600] The faculty and front-line worker unions have each already authorized strike mandates – though this does not necessarily mean a strike is imminent. The University’s negotiation update for this week has not been posted yet. [Carleton]

Ex-bureaucrats from Nepean join Haydon camp [Ottawa Citizen]. Haydon was on CBC Ottawa Morning. He was curt, matter-of-fact and the Friday host Hallie Cotnam rightly pressed him about whether he was frustrated. He said the Citizen and the Sun have decided on LRT and he suspects his meeting with the Citizen editorial board today will be “short.”
